The World Is Changing...

Finally, my legs are nearly healed. It no longer hurts to walk and the aurora that was flowing under my skin is subsiding. I was able to make it back to the gym today and do a light workout. I managed 30 minutes on my beloved elliptical machine and roasted about 500 calories. Tomorrow I might try to throw in a small circuit training routine and then go for 35 minutes on the elliptical. Judging by the scale, I had too much beer this summer break.

But that's OK! School's starting next week and in order to stay focused during the intense 2 week session, I'm going to lay off the beer (except for maybe one night on the weekend) and exercise daily. I find when I exercise during the school year, it helps me to stay focused on my work.

The main topic of this post however is my recent decisions involving next year. We have decided that it's time to go to America and will be leaving Japan in April next year.

To be honest it's a bit scary. We're making decent money here and I'm well on an established career track. To see all that come to an end will be a rather hard thing. However, the new opportunities that are presenting themselves are exciting (but challenging). It'll be an uphill battle, but for those who know me, this is what I'm best at.

I'm going to take the next 6 months to beef up on my business background. One of the things I might have to do is study for my CPA license. I've contacted one of my old teachers to see what I need to do to strengthen my prospects. Another step I've already taken is to subscribe to the Wall Street Journal online. Hopefully I'll learn some helpful things to further enhance my chances.

Another change that will be coming will be a new blog. I think I'll make the jump over to Word Press eventually...

I think that's all for now. Time to get to some reading...
