That's what you should be reading. The real story turned out quite different.
We got back on Sunday and relaxed for most of the day. On Monday a buddy invited us over for a BBQ. Being a holiday still (Obon), I figured it wouldn't hurt much to skip one day of the gym.
The next day I got a good workout by riding my bike to a buddy's house to hang out. He lives about 45 minutes away by bike. Unbeknownst to me, but knownst to the angry gods of biking, I was to have a small catastrophe just before arriving at his house.
I'm not entirely sure what happened, but as I was turning a corner, my front tire hit a small "bump" so to speak. This caused my front tire to swerve quite a bit. My first reaction (which was my downfall - - literally) was to slam on the brakes. Well, I learned that my brakes work a little too well. The bike came to an immediate stop, but I didn't. The back tire flipped over me and down I went.
I bruised both of my thighs, sprained (?) my right wrist, and strained the other. Absolutely brilliant.
Now I need to wait until I either get full mobility of my legs back without the pain or for my wrist to heal to get back to the gym.
Here's what it looked like today. Beautiful coloring.
As far as the world of bruises go, I know this is nothing. I'm pretty sure I've had worse bruises, as well. The thing that sucks about this one is the location. It's right behind the knee and runs to the top of my thigh on the front.
Have a good night/day wherever you are and don't fall off your bike!
