This and That

I just got back from a jog and while trying to cool down I figured I would write a blog posting to keep my dear mother happy.

Not much is going on here. There's only about a week left of this semester and boy I couldn't be happier. Once school lets out, Ayu and I are going to Tokyo for a week. We'll leave Saturday and spend the week there and leave Saturday night (another night bus...) and arrive Sunday morning. It should be a fun week and I'm very much looking forward to getting away from Kanazawa for a week. I'm gonna bring my work out gear and try to get out jogging every day while we're in Tokyo.

About 2 weeks ago, I signed up for this fitness thing at the gym. They measured my body fat %, took my height and weight and then gave me two free protein shakes and a free sports drink. My body fat % was higher than I wanted it to be so that's why I'm working a little harder now to drop some extra pounds. I have until August 31st to work my magic. I'll post all the numbers once I cross that line.

The only other thing I can see worth mentioning is my failed sourdough experiment. It's been relatively warm here - but not hot - and I took advantage of the temps to get a quick yeast colony going. My goal was to make a sourdough with it, but I was too busy and I just kept feeding it. Tonight, I went to make a starter out of it, opened the jar and my sourdough smelled like Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese. Not exactly what I was looking for...

Moral of that story: Don't leave a sourdough starter in 90 degree temps for too long. NASTY.

Well, I can't really see anything more worth mentioning. I foresee my next blog posting being in Tokyo. Until that time, take care my 2 or 3 loyal readers!
