Hiking

Today a buddy and I went for a hike in the mountains. It was hard work but a lot of fun. There isn't too much to say about it other than I really prefer climbing up as opposed to coming down. Going downhill is way too hard on the knees. If you are ever in the Ishikawa/Toyama area, the mountain's name is 医王山(いおうぜん、Iouzen) and the specific peak was 白兀(しらはげ、Shirahage). It's a fairly easy climb but requires some focus and perseverance. Enjoy the pics!

One of the few paths up/down the mountain. This path was only wide enough for one foot to step, which made moving a little slower.

This was the view we had while we ate our lunch at the peak.

This pond is nestled in the mountains, about an hour's hike from the peak. We made it from one point to the other in about 50 minutes or so.

We left the pond and moved on to a waterfall. On the way down the mountainside we found a Japanese maple tree that was just starting to turn colors.

A bug that I ate.

(Just kidding!)

The previously mentioned waterfall. Notice the cave next to it. I wonder if there's anything living in there?

A salamander chillin' out on the rocks.

The last pic for this post: The waterfall-turned-stream continuing its journey down the mountain.

As I said before, it was great and I can't wait to get up into the mountains again!

Have a great day/night wherever you are!

*Also, a happy birthday shout out to my mother! I believe she's going on 20 years old this year ;) Happy birthday mom!
