Slab of Bacon and a Storm

Today is the Monday of the week that we leave. We head out on Thursday and Vermont decided to give us a lovely parting gift: 2 feet of snow. It started snowing yesterday and we got about 4 or 5 inches during the day. I went out last night and cleared my parents' driveway and waited for the second blow to come in. It arrived last night and started snowing at a rate of about 3 or 4 inches and hour.

Unfortunately, my dad got out and moved the bulk of the heavy snowfall. I really didn't want him to do this because his back is less than stellar and recently his shoulders are about the same. The only thing I can do now is just keep on top of it and let him stay out of the snow. He says he likes it though because it gives him good exercise and this I can understand. We're waiting for the plow to come through and when he does he's gonna throw all the snow in the road - 2 feet of it - into the driveway and we get to do some hard working. I'll have to bacon fuel it.

Today is going to consist of a lot of shoveling and eating bacon. I went to Dakin Farms last week and bought a nice slab of cob smoked bacon. I really like the slab bacon because I can chop off huge chunks and have a nice Scooby-snack style bacon chunk.

Here are some pics. In the fury of the storm I couldn't get great pics. That and it's all white. Oh well...
