As most people know, Japan had a massive earthquake on Friday.
We were approaching the northern most part of Japan when the pilot came on the intercom system and announced that we were heading back to Anchorage due to a significant earthquake in Tokyo, Japan. Naturally, this worried us as we have friends and family in the Tokyo area. As far as we know everyone is OK.
So we're here, looking at the gorgeous mountains and getting ready to explore the area for the day. We're scheduled to leave at 8:00am tomorrow morning (Saturday) and fly directly into Tokyo. After that, I dunno.
And now we just saw that the Nagano/Niigata area just had an extremely strong earthquake.
Speechless.
