Enlightenment

It is said that Buddha sat underneath a tree (what kind a tree is beyond me) and achieved enlightenment. It's a nice thought, but I think I found something better today.

It's officially rainy season here, with endless downpours of rain for 6 weeks straight...not. Today was actually very beautiful and balmy. With temperatures around 90°F, Ayu and I went for a walk and a picnic. As a bonus I thought I would bring my guitar along and enjoy some music at the park. We first went to a super cheap bread shop, bought some sandwiches and sweet breads and then headed to the predesignated park.

The downside to living in a city is that it can be hard to escape and find a patch of green. The first park we went to looked like a drunk jerk trashed the place with his cigarette butts and cans of cheap, good-for-only-getting-drunk alcohol (yeah, I'll say jerk, when it's hard to find a nice place, people shouldn't be rude and trash a park just because they have no sense of how to be clean).

As I murmured a few not so kosher words about the jerk, we left in search of another park. We finally found one about half a mile away and sat down and enjoyed our lunch. After eating I got a chance to play my guitar under a tree a achieved my own form of enlightenment. Not only am I grateful for a beautiful, warm sunny day, a chance to enjoy a picnic with Ayu, but also for the fact that no one in the neighboring vicinity complained of my horrible music. Here are some pictures of the park we went to. It's not much for those who may be viewing from a country area, but what's important is to use what you've got.

I hope everyone's enjoying a nice and relaxing weekend.
