Well, after developing a liking for reading blogs, I have decided to make one myself.
Why? I'm not quite sure to be honest. My life is good, but it's not exciting by any means. I currently live in Japan, which would be exciting to most people, but to me, it's just normal everyday life. Perhaps, by writing down interesting things I see, I can have a better chance of reflecting on living here and see what a truly bizarre place Japan can be (and yes, it can be EXTREMELY bizarre), while at the same time entertaining/enlightening some readers.
Living in Japan for over 2 years has given me some interesting stories, which I will try to post along with the regular junk. I'm sure the more I write, the more I will remember about strange occurences here. I'm sure living in Japan will provide a bulk of the content for what's on this blog, but I will try to keep writing on a variety of ideas that float around in the vast space of my head. The water there is murky and dangerous, so I have to caution on the quality of some of my ideas.
Finally, before all this begins, I would like to say that I do love living in Japan. Yes, Japan is strange, weird, irrational, xenophobic and sometimes just flat out irritating. But, at the same time, Japan is a safe country, the people are almost always very polite (once you get to know them) and, contrary to what some may think, it is a beautiful country. I can appreciate natural beauty as much as the next man (er...person), but I can also appreciate the achievements of human kind and the development of huge cities, transportation and both ugly and beautiful buildings.
I guess with that little introduction, welcome to my blog and my life.
